Services

Mentoring, standards and documentation for daily flight operations.

AVIAMENT supports projects where experience, structure and operational usability must come together.

01

Training & Mentoring

Individual mentoring and practical support for pilots, operators and operational personnel.

02

Operational Standards & Consulting

Development, review and implementation of SOPs, checklists, responsibilities and operational standards.

03

Manuals & Documentation

Aircraft-specific checklists, QRH structures, manuals and records – aligned with equipment, modifications and version status.

04

IFR & Decision Making

Assessing weather, alternates, workload and Plan B systematically before possibility turns into pressure.

Experience

Experience from flight decks, training and operational responsibility.

The standard is not volume, but reliable quality:
clear standards, safe procedures and solutions that work in everyday operations.

Line OperationsExperience from real airline and long-haul operations.
Training MindsetEstablishing procedures, strengthening standards and shaping behaviour.
International ContextCooperation in civil and military aviation environments, with experience from international safety and accident-analysis committees.
Safety CultureGood decisions, clear communication and robust procedures.

Focus Areas

Aviation competence with focus on what matters.

Pilot Training

Training, mentoring and development – individual, structured and close to real operations.

Operational Standards & Consulting

Developing, harmonising and embedding SOPs, checklists and processes.

Manuals & Documentation

Good documentation is not paperwork. It is an operational tool: structured, accessible and tailored to the actual aircraft.

IFR & Decision Making

Legally possible does not automatically mean operationally wise. Weather awareness, Plan B and realistic limits matter.

Operational Philosophy

Legally possible is not automatically operationally wise.

Good IFR decisions start before the flight: understand the weather, plan alternatives, discuss risks openly and remove pressure from the system. Nothing is done at the last minute. If tomorrow is the better flying day, the flight is postponed. If there is no Plan B, the plan is changed.

Plan BAlternates, minima and personal limits are clarified before flight.
Risk MitigationRisks are not ignored; they are discussed and reduced.
No PressureA cancelled or postponed flight can be the best decision.

Plan B

The second plan is not an afterthought. It belongs at the beginning.

Weather & Alternates

What is the Plan B when weather, time pressure or technical issues change the original intention?

Terrain & Performance

Terrain, drift-down, alternates and system limitations belong in the decision before flight.

Knowledge

Professional knowledge can be replaced by nothing – except more professional knowledge.

Aircraft Operations

General Aviation IFR with professional structure.

From a single-engine IFR touring aircraft to jet operations: clear procedures, realistic limits and clean decisions matter. AVIAMENT transfers core principles of professional airline operation to general aviation.

Behind AVIAMENT

Experience, standards and safety work – without self-display.

AVIAMENT is shaped by the experience of Dieter Spiess genannt Bongard: airline captain, instructor and examiner with more than four decades of operational aviation experience. Active in aviation since 1981, later professionally in the airline environment.

His career spans Boeing 737 and 747, regional jet and Airbus A320, followed by Airbus A300/A310, A330/A340 and A350. This is complemented by 32 years of accident-investigation and safety work, as well as the development of operations and training documentation for different flight operations.

For many years he was active in international accident-investigation and flight-safety committees. This perspective shapes AVIAMENT’s training philosophy: standards are not an end in themselves. They help recognise risks early, prepare decisions properly and interrupt error chains before they become critical.
